bahini = little sister
Our mission is to create a circular economy where you can enjoy sustainable high quality scarves that is kind to our planet, while empowering women and girls with an independent life of freedom.
To ensure the fibres in our scarves are cruelty free and kind to our planet we chose to use the most sustainable plant-based material we could find. All our scarves are made from 100% natural bamboo linen, which requires zero pesticides and chemicals, and a minimal amount of water to produce. Our scarves are dyed with either plants and herbs or an eco-friendly azo-free dye.
It is a basic human right to live in freedom and to have equal opportunities in life. Through Bahini, survivors of sex-trafficking are employed, paid a fair wage and reintegrated into society with the help of our carefully selected Fair Trade certified partners.
Every girl has the right to grow and to live a life in freedom. The profit each scarf we sell goes directly towards educational scholarships for young survivors and to girls at risk. Our hope is for every girl to gain strength through education, and find the power to shape their individual futures.
